Live updates do not need to be fancy. They need to be timely and consistent. Players mainly want to know what is happening now, what happens next, and whether the expected time has changed.
Choose one person or role to update information during the event. If everyone can update but nobody owns it, updates become slow or inconsistent.
Keep the update format stable: current round, next matchup, expected start time, and any delay notice. A predictable format helps players scan quickly.
Make sure the physical board, the staff briefing, and the online page match each other. If one changes, update the others as soon as possible.
- Assign one clear update owner before the event starts
- Use the same update format each time
- Tell people what is live, what is next, and whether timing changed
- Keep the paper board and online page aligned
